A new version of Family Tree PHP is available for download: version 0.3.6. This version contains some bugs fixes and some minor improvements. There is no need for exisiting users to update immediately, unless you encounter one of the fixed bugs or want to use one of the improvements.
Improvements:
- A Gedcom module is added. (This is just a beta release. Please test it: export a gedcom, import it into your primary family tree software, check for errors and report any errors you find. In this way I hope this module will work perfectly when it is needed: when Family Tree PHP will be turned into a full family tree program.)
- The third party class PHPMailer is now used for sending emails.
- Attachments can be send from the contact form, so you can now receive pictures, gedcoms or other files from your visitors.
Bug fixes:
- Emails to new users were empty if new users were immediately active, so they did not receive their passwords.
- On some servers emails were not send. (This is hopefully corrected by using PHPMailer.)
How to update:
- Upload all files of the new version to your server.
- Open in your browser the file ‘update.php’.
- Follow the instructions.
If you use other template sets than the ‘Default’ template set, you also have to update these. Otherwise your site won’t work properly anymore. If you have made your own template files, you will have to edit these too.
